Aislinn Probst, Nicolas Shyne
Aislinn Garnett Probst and Nicolas Andrew Shyne, each of whom hold the rank of lieutenant junior grade in the Navy, were married June 22 at the United States Naval Academy Chapel in Annapolis, Md. Lt. Cmdr. Jason Gregory, a Presbyterian chaplain, performed the ceremony.
The couple met at the Naval Academy, from which they graduated.
The bride, 23, is taking her husband’s name. She is a surface warfare officer onboard the U.S.S. Rushmore (LSD-47), and is stationed at Naval Base San Diego.
She is the daughter of Denise A. Probst and Thomas D. Probst of Arnold, Md. The bride’s father is a supervisor in Baltimore with the special investigations unit of Geico, the insurance carrier. Her mother is a customer engagement executive at SAP Concur, a provider of integrated travel and expense management services in Annapolis.
The groom, 24, is an information professional officer in the Navy who is stationed at Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia.
He is a son of Anna Ortega-Shyne and Jeffrey M. Shyne of South Bend, Ind. In July, the groom’s mother will begin working as a program assistant at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame-Project on Revitalizing Catholic Engagement on Nuclear Disarmament. The groom’s father serves as Notre Dame’s organizational development manager and learning manager.
