Amanda Holden vows to carry on taking risks with outfits after Ofcom complaints
There are just weeks to go until this year's Britain's Got Talent live shows kick off and attention will, no doubt, be drawn to the killer outfits that female judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon pull out.
And despite racking up hundreds of Ofcom complaints for her risqué outfits, Amanda, 52, has vowed not to cover up this year.
She has also pointed out that her male counterparts Simon Cowell, 63, and Bruno Tonioli, 67, don't receive the same complaints despite often having their chests out.
Speaking about the outfits we may see her in this year, she told the Mirror: "I am thinking more rubber. I enjoyed wearing latex in the audition and I am thinking more latex in their lives. More latex and more sweating!"
Speaking at a Q&A session with the judges, she added: "It's like the problem is everyone talking about my t*ts, while these two [Simon and Bruno] all the time…
"[Simon's] shirt's always undone and [Bruno's] stripping off. No Ofcom complaints about me this year, please."
Bruno was clearly shocked to hear about the complaints, saying: "If you got it, flaunt it and you girls [Amanda and Alesha] got it. I don't understand this complaining, what is the problem?"
Amanda hit back: "It's nothing, people have too much time on their hands."
A sheer black Julien MacDonald dress with a plunging neckline that Amanda opted to wear in 2017 received 663 complaints, with viewers flocking to air their negativity towards the Heart FM presenter's choice of outfit.
At the time, Amanda laughed off the complaints, saying: "That dress was hysterical – it was Julien MacDonald. I had bits of fish wire underneath my breasts trying to hold that together."
She continued: "But, look, I'm from a small-chest family, plus you know I'm 48 years old.
"It's all quite laughable, but all everyone seems to talk about. It's been called another national crisis – but, oh no, I will not be covered up."
One viewer tweeted about the daring outfit at the time: "So Amanda is effectively topless on Britain's Got Talent."
That same year, a black dress with a slit running up the thigh and a corset-style top with one sleeve garnered 136 complaints.
And in 2020, a navy off-the-shoulder number with a V-neckline modelled by Amanda received 235 complaints after viewers claimed they could see her nipples.
Ofcom has not investigated any of the complaints made about Amanda's outfits.
Britain's Got Talent continues on Sunday at 7:40pm on ITV1 and ITVX
