BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, 44, has left fans wincing with his latest Strictly Come Dancing training update on Instagram this evening. Dan appeared alongside his professional dance partner Nadiya Bychkova, 32, in a video, which he shared with his 243,000 followers.
The star admitted he was left with “blood coming out of his mouth” after suffering an accident while rehearsing his Charleston with Nadiya this week.
Dan previously revealed Nadiya had “kneed him in the chin” by mistake yesterday as they tried to pull off a tricky lift for their routine.
However, the presenter has now confirmed that the injury was far more gory than he had initially stated.
Dan began the clip by saying: “We’re celebrating the end of our training session with a chocolate digestive.
“Cheers partner! Charleston this week… happy?”
Reassuring her partner, Nadiya gushed: “So happy, well done! I’m really proud of you.”
Dan added of the Charleston’s signature move: “It’s good, and I can swivel!”
“He can swivel, yay,” the professional dancer exclaimed in response.
However, Dan’s tone changed as he addressed his “bruised” face after Nadiya accidentally struck him during training.
He told fans: “That’s the high point of the week.
“The low point is, can you see there’s still a bruise here where I got kneed in the face by the Ukrainian queen here?”
Trying to play the mishap down, Nadiya sighed: “Are you still talking about that?

“I mean, really? He wasn’t ready, we were doing the lift…”
Dan then interjected: “There was blood coming out of my mouth, all over the place!”
Apologising again, Nadiya sheepishly said: “I’m really, really sorry partner, sorry!”
Fortunately, Dan then stopped teasing Nadiya and added: “That’s alright.
“Thank you for the lovely supportive messages this week.
“We love the Charleston, Musicals Week and we are ready!”
Dan first addressed the accident yesterday, saying in another Instagram post: “Brilliant session learning the Charleston today.
“[My partners] have put together such a fun routine with loads of lifts.”
“High point: I think I can swivel. Low point: Nadiya kneed me in the chin.”
