Daniel Hrdlicka, Tyson Jurgens

Daniel Joseph Hrdlicka and Tyson Lavern Jurgens were married July 2 in the events space at Lafayette Grand Cafe and Bakery in New York. The Rev. Ricardo R. Lopez, an Episcopal priest, officiated.

Mr. Hrdlicka (left), 30, is the annual-giving manager at the Cathedral School of St. John the Divine in New York. He graduated from the University of Tulsa.

He is a son of Kathryn T. Hrdlicka and Steven R. Hrdlicka of St. Louis County, Mo. The groom’s mother is a radiation therapist at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. His father is a medical-billing specialist in St. Louis for NextGen Healthcare, an information technology company that manages back-office functions for hospitals and medical practices.

Mr. Jurgens, 33, is the senior marketing manager at Newsela, an educational technology company in New York. He graduated from Ithaca College and received an M.B.A. and a master’s degree in educational leadership from St. Louis University. From 2008 to 2010, he was a Teach for America corps member, and taught a second-grade class at Troost Elementary School in Kansas City, Mo.

He is the son of Angela R. Jurgens of Lincoln, Neb., and Randall L. Jurgens of Omaha. The groom’s mother is a pharmacy specialist at the east campus of Bryan Medical Center, in Lincoln. His father is a customer service manager in the Lincoln office of Frito Lay, the chip manufacturer.

The couple met on Scruff, a dating app, in 2015 when both lived in Kansas City.
