Did Miley Cyrus acknowledge being snubbed by the VMAs?

Miley Cyrus and her opinions can’t be tamed.

The 26-year-old singer seemed to agree with two fan accounts that called out this year’s MTV’s Video Music Awards. (Cyrus was not nominated.)

“They care more about a f—king green screen than a message to the world,” one post read, presumably a reference to the video for Cyrus’ “Mother’s Daughter,” which featured feminist messages and a body-positive theme. “Nominate anyone but at least do not use the image of Miley to promote their damn prizes.”

Cyrus responded in the comments, “Exactly.”

It is unclear which image of the pop star MTV allegedly used to “promote” the award show.

A separate fan account wrote, “Guess I’m not watching the VMAS this year ??‍♂️ unless Miley performs,” to which Cyrus responded, “No f—kin way.”

Fans assumed this meant the singer did not want to take the stage again for the network. Cyrus hosted the show the show in 2015, and returned to perform in 2017.

The VMAs will take place at the Prudential Center in New Jersey this year. Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift lead the nominations with 10 nods each.

Reps for MTV and Cyrus could not be reached for comment.
