Fern Britton responds to admirer after Phil Vickery heartbreak ‘I’m ready to be tucked in’
Fern Britton jokes about her Saturday night plans
Fern Britton, 63, has replied to a male admirer on Twitter after he offered to “tuck her into bed” when she gave her 79,000 followers an insight into how she was spending her Saturday night. It comes after the former This Morning presenter admitted she was “feeling down” over the weekend after her estranged husband Phil Vickery shared his “happiness” following their shock split last year after 20 years together.
Fern sparked attention from the fan when she posted a photo of her night in plans.
The snap showed a bowl of tortilla chips, a martini and a beautiful bouquet of daffodils.
The author wrote alongside the picture from her home: “Just finished writing for the day.
“Daffs, dry gin martini ( olives, dirty) bowl of tortillas. I think this’ll sort me right out. Going to watch #TheDig #netflix xxxx.”

Fans took to the comments section of Fern’s post to share their thoughts on her cosy evening.
One person wrote: “We also watched that tonight – isn’t it beautiful?”
Another added: “Good idea, daffs are my favourite flowers remind me of my childhood back home in Ireland.”
A third fan commented: “Enjoy, and well deserved. I’d love to write a fiction book. Political thriller.”
However, one fan took his opportunity to share a flirtatious comment with Fern in response to her post.
Fern’s admirer penned: “If you need tucking into bed later give me a shout I’m your Man,” alongside two face throwing a kiss emojis.
Fortunately, the presenter seemed to appreciate the romantic request.
She cheekily wrote back: “I’m ready to be tucked in.”

Her fan then responded: “Once this covid has gone away, I will certainly come down to yours and tuck you into bed and even tell you a bedtime story of your choice, that’s if the offer is still available then.”
Fern’s exchange with the Twitter user comes after she opened up about her emotions during lockdown while she embarked on a 5K walk in the rain.
The mum-of-four could be seen being battered by the wind and torrential downpours while she chatted to fans.
The author quizzed in a video: “Are you having an up day or a down day, or upside down all the way through?
“Sometimes up, sometimes down, this morning I must admit I had a bit of a down when I looked in the mirror!”
Fern then drew attention to her new glasses, which she branded “terrifying”.
Fern’s candidly spoke to fans about her feelings just days after her ex Phil, who is a chef on This Morning, shared an insight into his life after their separation.
When quizzed on how he is doing following their recent split, Phil confirmed in a new interview with Entertainment Daily: “[I’m] completely happy. The kids are all good.”
The television stars share daughter Winnie, 17, together, while Fern also has twins Harry and Jack, and daughter Grace, with her ex Clive Jones.
Phil went on to admit he tries to remain positive in spite of any challenges he faces in his personal life.
“Life… You’ve got to be positive and I’m always a positive person,” he added.
