Inside Kate Middleton’s 39th Birthday Celebration
Ever since the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a halt in 2020, major holidays and celebrations have not been possible for most people (unless you’re Kendall Jenner or Kim Kardashian). Social distancing and mask mandates have caused celebrations to be canceled or scaled back and even royals aren’t exempt from hosting dinner parties at their houses.
In the United Kingdom, where Kate Middleton resides with husband Prince William and their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — is under its third major lockdown in recent months and has prohibited its citizens to “stay at home except for urgent travel, medical appointments and outdoor exercise,” per The New York Times.

Kate Middleton spent her birthday eating homemade cake
Under normal circumstances, Kate Middleton would’ve celebrated her birthday early by inviting some of her best friends and family, including her parents, Carole and Michael, to a house party, per People. However, the outlet reported that this year Middleton was joined by her three kids and Prince William at their country home in Norfolk, where they are currently isolating.
According to People, Prince William reportedly led the celebrations and rounded up Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to bake a cake for Middleton. Baking has been a newfound hobby for the Cambridges who baked poppy cupcakes for British veterans in October 2020, per Harper’s Bazaar, but this time Prince William might have dealt with even more of a mess in the kitchen thanks to his children.
While on royal duty in June 2020, Prince William joked that his children were not as tidy as him and Middleton are in the kitchen. “I’ve done a bit of baking,” said Prince William to the Belfast Telegraph. “The children have been attacking the kitchen and it’s just been an explosion of flour and chocolate everywhere.”
Hopefully the Cambridge children didn’t attack the kitchen too hard while baking the cake and that Middleton had a good birthday.
