James Corden 'forced to isolate for week after new series shut down'

James Corden ‘forced to isolate for a week after new series Mammals is shut down due to COVID outbreak’

James Corden was forced to isolate for a week after someone tested positive for COVID-19 on the set of his new Amazon series Mammals, according to reports.

Production on the show – which is a six-part comedy series and also stars Sally Hawkins – came to a halt last month, despite cast and crew being just two weeks into the shooting schedule.

As a result, James, 42, ‘had to go into isolation for a week along with other cast and crew of the show’, which has so far filmed in London and Cornwall.

A source told The Sun: ‘This is a real blow for the production team, who have a tightly run schedule which now has to be ripped up and redrafted.

‘Filming has now resumed but obviously the bosses are on tenterhooks waiting for another positive test result.’

They added: ‘They’re taking every precaution they can to make the set as safe as possible.’

MailOnline has reached out to James’ representatives for comment.

James was last seen filming scenes for the series earlier in August on the streets of London.

While the storyline of the new show has been kept hush-hush, there have been rumours that it will be about the challenges of married life.

The show has been written by two-time Olivier and Tony Award-winning playwright and screenwriter Jez Butterworth who has made a name for himself for flicks such as Spectre and Jerusalem.

The six-part comedy series will also star Merlin’s Colin Morgan, Guardians of the Galaxy actress Melia Kreiling and Henry Lloyd Hughes, of Killing Eve fame, among others.

The series is James’ first acting gig since starring in the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special almost two years ago.

The news comes after James recently revealed he hates working out despite his lifestyle overhaul.

He detailed how when he gets time off work he just wants to be ‘laying down’ not breaking a sweat and going to the gym.

Speaking on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show in July, James said, ‘I feel like I’m getting better. I’m trying, but I feel like there’s still a way to go.. I’ve lost just over 35lbs’.

James admitted to ‘not being a fan’ of hitting the gym and said ‘I’m trying to, but I suck at it. I’m so bad at it. It’s terrible.

‘There are so few hours in the day that are just my own, do you know what I mean?

‘I’ve got three young kids. We have the show and all these things. I feel like, ”Hang on a minute. I’ve got an hour here where I’m on my own, and I’m doing something that I absolutely hate”. I should just be laying down.’

James also joked that he isn’t keen on using personal trainers, saying: ‘I don’t trust them. I don’t think they want me to lose weight quickly’.

The star continued to explained that he’d ‘burned through’ roughly 75 of them before concluding getting paid by the hour made them disinterested in rapid results.
