Jordan Fisher has a small part in this week’s new episode of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series!

Jordan‘s appearance on the Disney+ series actually sparked from a Twitter interaction with creator and showrunner Tim Federle.

In February 2020, Jordan tweeted, “Honestly, I just wanna sing Start of Something New with @Olivia_Rodrigo AND @joshuatbassett.”

Tim then replied with a gif of Kate Reinders (Miss Jenn) saying “I’m in,” and the rest is history.

“started with a twitter interaction…words can’t express how much i love this show, but mostly this unbelievably talented CAST. excited for you guys to meet Jamie @highschoolmusicalseries,” Jordan shared on social media after his part was announced earlier this week.

SPOILER ALERT! DO NOT CONTINUE if you don’t want to know what happens in HSMTMTS!

In the episode, Jordan guest stars as Gina’s older brother Jamie, who is a well known, talented music producer. He appears at opening night of Beauty and the Beast as a surprise sent by Gina’s mom who was unable to make it to the show, again.

He told Gina how proud of her he was, but he had to leave early before curtain call at the end. He also talked to EJ and said he was glad Gina had an older brother figure in her life since he’s been absent so much. That then hit EJ hard as he and Gina were supposed to go out to eat together.

Be sure to catch “Opening Night,” now streaming on Disney+!
