Countryfile star Julia Bradbury, 51, has taken to Twitter to let her followers know the latest update on her health. It comes after the presenter confirmed last week she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and needs to undergo “urgent surgery”.

Julia shared a video of herself getting a booster vaccine this morning in a bid to remain “Covid-safe” ahead of her surgery.

She said: “Okay, so here I am having my booster jab today because I’m having an operation in a few weeks’ time.

“There we go. So I want to make sure that I’m as Covid-safe as I possibly can be pre the op and obviously post the op as well.

“That’s it, all done. Honestly, it didn’t hurt at all and I feel very grateful that I’ve been able to have it.

“Thank you NHS.”

Alongside the video, the TV personality also penned: “Not long until I have my operation, grateful for my booster vaccine.

“#BoosterShots #VaccinationDrive #CovidVaccine.”

Last Monday, Julia shared her diagnosis on her Instagram, as she admitted it was not something she “expected to be sharing”.

In view of her 103,000 followers, she wrote: “I’ve campaigned for cancer charities for most of my career & this year I became an ambassador for @OvarianCancerAction.

“I’ve been diagnosed with breast cancer in the last few weeks & need urgent surgery.

“I will share what I can with you but I’m sure you understand that I need to focus on my family & treatment, so I won’t be able to respond & engage on here as much as usual.”

Julia also urged others to be vigilant and check themselves regularly.

The TV star continued: “Please self-check regularly & if you have any unexplained pain, tenderness or lumps, please ask for checks & follow ups.

“And ask for a second opinion if you’re not happy.”

Julia was immediately inundated with well-wishes, with her Countryfile co-star Matt Baker showing his support with a heart emoji.

Presenter Nicki Shields also wrote: “Julia, I can’t believe it, had to reread that several times.

“Thinking of you and the family.

“You’ve got this we’re here for you and love you.”

Good Morning Britain presenter Alex Beresford wrote: “You’re a strong person and you have a loving family around you to fight this.

“Sending you positive energy.”
