Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway looked the picture of health today as she was seen chatting with Prince Charles, just days after receiving hospital treatment for an inflamed cornea. The newsreader, 54, stunned as she attended an event hosted by the Prince of Wales for the Prince’s Trust Trophy Awards in London today, as she appeared to be back to her usual self.

And to think I nearly didn’t get it checked out

Wearing a blue midi dress with a red and pink floral pattern, Kate looked radiant as she mingled with royalty.

The GMB host matched her dress with a pair of purple toned heels as she wore her hair in its trademark sleek bob.

As well as brushing shoulders with Prince Charles, Kate also spent time with James Bond actor Colin Salmon and BBC presenter Fearne Cotton.

The Prince’s Trust awards recognises young people across the UK who have had a positive impact on their local community and succeeded against the odds.

The ITV star appeared to be on the mend after receiving medical treatment for an inflamed cornea on Sunday.

Admitting to her one million Instagram followers that she almost didn’t get her eye checked out, Kate sparked concern while sharing a painful-looking snap of her inflamed eye.

Looking swollen and watery, the GMB star attributed her health issue to wearing her contact lenses for too long after some “very long days”.

Kate explained that her inflamed cornea was the reason why she was wearing glasses on last Friday morning’s show, instead of her usual contacts.

Continuing her caption, the newsreader urged her followers to put themselves first.

She wrote: “And to think I nearly didn’t get it checked out as was wanting to get back home to do some physio with Derek.

“A further reminder if you are a carer, parent or anyone really you have to sometimes put yourself first otherwise you are no use to anyone you are trying to help.”

Kate revealed that she was receiving treatment and should be back to her usual self in a couple of days.

“48 hours of putting drops in every hour day AND night & I will be back on track,” she ended her post while wishing her followers a happy Sunday.

It comes as Kate has been busy looking after her other half Derek at home since he was allowed to leave hospital in April.

Derek had spent over a year in intensive care after becoming the UK’s longest-surviving Covid in-patient.

Following Kate’s post, the star’s celebrity friends rushed to wish her better.

GMB presenter Susanna Reid wrote: “Take care of yourself,” alongside a red heart emoji.

Loose Women panellist Denise Welch commented: “Hope it clears soon. Sending so much love xxx.”

“Oh Kate. You are an absolute Trojan. Feel better soon. x” penned former Hear’Say star Myleene Klass.

While her GMB co-star Adil Ray added: “Big love you.”
