Love Island winner Davides sly dig as he admits he hasnt found this years series entertaining
Love Island 2022 winner Davide Sanclimenti has delivered a sly dig at this year's winter edition as he admitted he hasn't been "entertained" by the drama in the South African villa so far.
The 27 year old star, who won the show with his now-girlfriend Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, 28, swiftly became one of the show's most popular contestants ever to grace screens.
The Italian stallion and his Turkish delight had an almighty journey on the show, with many convinced their fiery personalities couldn't make it in the long haul.
But nearly seven months after the final last summer, the couple are still going strong.
Part of their draw with fans was the constant back and forth and hilarity between the pair, with arguments and giggles galore.
Davide doesn't believe any of this year's contestants have held the same excitement for viewers.
"I haven't watched Love Island because of time and also because probably I didn't find any entertainment from this year," the star told The Mirror.
But while the Italian islander had some almighty arguments in the villa with his now girlfriend Ekin-Su, he gave current stars some advice that it's really important to follow their "gut" on the show.
He urged current stars to know themselves before coming out of the villa, as "hundreds of thousands" of people will try and stick their oar in and give them advice.
He also said islanders will be advised on correct plans and timings on how to advance their careers, but insisted people know themselves better than anyone else does.
"So just follow their feelings and just be real to themselves and don't change because people think something about them," Davide added.
The show winner's relationship with beauty Ekin-Su continues to go from strength to strength since they won the series last year.
While the latter's stint on Dancing On Ice was both controversial and short-lived, Davide was there supporting his love all the way.
The couple also filmed a recent TV show for ITV2 called Homecomings, which saw them explore Italy and Turkey and learn more about each other's respective families and beginnings in life.
Since then, both stars have been keen on taking part in future TV shows, with Davide excited to show more of his personality and humour on screen.
Meanwhile, this season's Love Island is struggling to find a clear winner as the drama keeps making each couple wobble in the South African villa.
For weeks, farmer Will Young, 23, and Australian babe Jessie Wynter, who is a veteran of the show in her home country, were favourites to win the winter series.
But after 26 year old Jessie opted to get involved with Casey O'Gorman's love life drama and stood up for her man, whisperings started around the villa.
With many convinced Jessie is faking her feelings for Will, could an underdog like Tom Clare, who was initially the villa love rat this year, and London beauty Samie Elishi end up sweeping the crown instead?
Love Island continues every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
