Matt Lucas defends David Walliams against Piers Morgan after brutal comments

Matt Lucas has defended David Walliams against Piers Morgan after the Good Morning Britain host compared him to a ‘sniveling toad.’

It’s all getting a bit personal.

Piers took aim at David after he appeared to like the ‘nastiest comments’ about him online but apparently was overly friendly to his face.

Resharing a post that David had apparently liked on Twitter, he commented: ‘Amusing that ⁦@davidwalliams⁩ regularly ‘likes’ the nastiest tweets about me, yet is such a snivelling toady to my face.

‘It’s not my fault ⁦@BGT⁩ ratings were so much higher when I was in your chair Dave!’

However, Matt wasn’t having any of it.

They first fell out in 2005 during their Little Britain Live Tour, with Matt revealing in his autobiography that they were ‘often at loggerheads’ over minor issues.

The two eventually stopped speaking in 2011, the same year Come Fly With Me was broadcast.

However, the duo have since made amends, delighting fans as they posted snaps of themselves reuniting.

‘Let me tell you what you’ve done, you’ve helped me get a pay rise,’ he said. ‘So, cheers. Cheers everybody.’
