A fan of Bat out of Hell singer Meat Loaf has claimed that the star recently underwent an endoscopy and complained to him about the restrictions that were put in place in light of the coronavirus pandemic. The star’s fan, reportedly named Marty, claimed that the musician made the comments in a Cameo video to him, saying: “Covid’s a drag, but you can blame China.”
COVID is a drag and we’re all suffering because of it but you can blame China
In the paid-for video, Meat Loaf attempts to sing Happy Birthday to a fan named Marty.
However, he explained that he was unable to do so after undergoing an endoscopy and still feeling the effects of general anaesthesia.
He said: “I can’t really sing too well because I had anaesthesia today and I had a pipe shoved down my throat.
“An endoscopy this morning. Ugh, Marty take care,” the star could be heard saying.
Meat Loaf went on: “I hope that you’re able to have at least your family celebrate your family with you. Covid is a drag and we’re all suffering because of it but you can blame China.
“I love you Marty, and one more thing – keep rocking.”
Two weeks ago, the rocker’s daughter Pearl Aday had told how she had friends and family members who had tested positive for the virus.
She told her 17,000 Instagram followers: “A message for Covid and it’s a*****e variant friends from the Ian family in yet ANOTHER lockdown.
“We are not sick, but we have too many friends and family testing positive right now, positive but doing ok.
“Thank their respect for science that they’re all vaxxed, otherwise they’d be way worse,” she added.
Meat Loaf’s daughter went on to explain that so far, she’d managed to avoid contracting the virus and urged her fans to stay safe.
In an interview from last August, the Bat out of Hell singer told a journalist from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette that he was “happy” to give him a hug during the pandemic.
Meat Loaf said: “I’m happy to give you a hug. I hug people in the middle of Covid.”
The reporter asked him: “You do? You’re not afraid?”
The star responded: “Oh, I’m scared to death! You kidding me?
“But I’m sorry, I understood stopping life for a little while, but they cannot continue to stop life because of politics. And right now they’re stopping because of politics.”
He went on to say that he’s “known for six months” that face masks are “useless”, branding them a “nuisance”.
“[They] make your nose itch and make it so you can’t breathe,” he said.
The Grammy-winning singer’s death was confirmed by his family who announced that he had died on Saturday night, aged 74.
Celebrity news site TMZ has since claimed that the star died after falling “serious ill” after contracting Covid
