Oti Mabuse, 30, has shared with her 571,000 Instagram followers that she has dropped her first children’s book, as the Strictly Come Dancing professional unveiled the finished product. The BBC champion shared her delight as she gushed her latest project was “finally here”.

The picture book titled Dance With Oti offers children an opportunity to celebrate dance, movement and provides a simple 10-step dance routine.

Taking to social media, the South-African born dancer accompanied the news with a snap of herself holding her new release.

Oti penned: “She’s finally here! My first ever children’s dance book with @walkerbooksuk.

“I’ve always had a passion for children, we grow up around them because my mom was a nursery school teacher and has inspired me to mix my love for dance and education together!”

She continued: “Thank you @walkerbooksuk for this opportunity. I cannot wait for you all to read it. I love it so much and so proud of it – hope your little ones do too.

“I also just realised that my nieces and nephews now can be proud to read auntie’s books that she wrote @motsimabuse @phemelom (DOUBLE WAMMY).”

Celebrity pals and fans alike flocked to comment on the big news as they offered their well-wishes.

Emmerdale star Charley Webb said: “So excited to get this.”

Strictly winner Ore Oduba commented: “Ahhh congratulations Oti!!! Looks ace.”

Alexandra Burke wrote: “So proud of you!”

Oti took to Twitter and also shared a message in view of her 160,000 followers.

She penned: “I get to do it for my family! Writing books for all of you to enjoy but also sending them home to South Africa to my mom’s nursery school for her to read to the kids & sisters to read to their children.”

The Strictly performer’s sibling and co-star Motsi Mabuse also reacted to the news.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, the Strictly judge gushed over her younger sister’s exciting move.

In view of her 55,000 followers, Motsi typed: “So happy about this !! My daughter asked to wear a dress with glitter this morning and then she said I should call her Elsa !! She couldn’t be anymore different from Elsa!!! More Role models for little girls !!! Different role models!!! @Disney lol please hurry up.”(sic)

The news comes after Oti recently responded to claims she was leaving Strictly, which she has denied.

Appearing on Steph’s Packed Lunch, she was asked whether she would be back as a pro on the BBC this year.

“Ahh! Do you know what, some of these conversations obviously I have never been a part of – they are above my pay grade,” Oti responded.

“I can’t say yes as to whether I’m going back or not. So, everybody will have to wait and see to find out what is going on. But it is nice to be spoken about… right?”

It has since been confirmed that Oti will be returning to the lineup when Strictly returns to screens later this year.
