Closer Looks of the sacai x fragment design x Nike LDWaffle Navy and Grey Colorways

Three-way collaborations with Nike have been the move for Chitose Abe and her popular sacai imprint in 2021 as she’s already unveiled footwear projects with the likes of KAWS, UNDERCOVER and Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design. The latter — which is comprised of a duo of neutral-heavy makeups — has now surfaced once again by way of detailed imagery.

Both of these iterations are designed with a more under-the-radar type of aesthetic as each is reliant on neutral color-blocking and text-based branding. Similarities between each pair are found within their angelic accents, all of which are dispersed to the double stacked Swooshes that lie on the medial and lateral walls, mesh tongues, heel overlays and the lipped out midsole pieces. Additionally, the branding is executed in the same fashion as each pair bears black “The Classic / Fragment : sacai” written out on the midsoles along with fragment’s bolt logo on one tongue and traditional Nike Sportswear insignias on the other. The primary difference is the base layer’s main hue as one pair is outfitted in dark navy while the other opts for a lighter grey presentation.

Early reports have these slated to drop sometime in August, but SNKRS has yet to confirm this information.
