FACULTY's Chrome Glitter Nail Lacquer Is All the "RAGE"

In July 2020, Hypebeast asked: “What’s the now and next of men’s cosmetics?” Since, we’ve seen Supreme collaborate with Pat McGrath, Harry Styles launch his beauty brand Pleasing — with Tyler, the Creator, Machine Gun Kelly, and Lil Yachty all jumping on that bandwagon — and the likes of Kid Cudi making a case for the wave of men wearing nail lacquer. But one brand leading the charge since the start is FACULTY, which not only received $3M USD of funding in 2021, but also paved the way for brands and its male consumers to learn more about wellness, beauty, self-care and the art of nail polish. Now, FACULTY is launching “RAGE,” a three-piece capsule that supports the non-profit advocacy and resource coalition, Nightlife United.

Leading the trio is the nail varnish. Coming in chrome glitter, the shade aims to look beyond gender stereotypes in order to shine a light on the wearer and their dazzling personality. Joining this is the tank top and cap, both of which proudly sport a “FACULTY RAGE” logo that blends the two words together in a warped manner. A sticker set rounds things off.

“Nightlife and rave culture is a huge inspiration for us at FACULTY,” says FACULTY co-founder Umar ElBably. “As we were developing the products for our ‘RAGE’ collection we witnessed multiple hate crimes take place at bars and clubs in our own neighborhood. As a Bushwick-based brand we were inspired to give back to the community that inspired this collection, as well as highlight members of the nightlife and queer community in our campaign.”

Nightlife United President, Varghese Chacko adds: “Nightlife United is excited to partner with FACULTY to help us support the community while celebrating the business’s growth. We thrive on collaborations with local companies and FACULTY is majorly inspiring. Shoutout to all the colleagues making magic happen.”

Prices range from $15 USD to $30 USD, and the entire collection can be purchased online now. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Nightlife United, helping to support the charity and “Black, POC and LGBTQIA+ businesses and workers who create safe spaces for their communities.”
