Tom Grennan's dad about to become a 'national treasure' on Celebrity Gogglebox

Tom Grennan has said he is ‘buzzing’ to join Celebrity Gogglebox along with his father Martin.

The Lionheart singer, 28, and his dad will give it a whirl at being a couch critic, following in the footsteps of other celebrities including Charlotte Church and Luke Evans.

The popstar will also be in good company for this year’s edition of the Channel 4 juggernaut, with the likes of Katherine Ryan and her partner Bobby Kootstra confirmed to star.

The Here hitmaker told Metro.co.uk he was ‘so excited’ to be taking part in the beloved show – and teased big things to come from his dad.

He said: ‘So excited for Gogglebox, especially filming with my Dad. I’ve said to him be ready to become a national treasure.

‘We’ve always been fans of the show and are both buzzing to be part of it.’

Katherine previously announced to The Sun she had signed up for Celebrity Gogglebox, explaining: ‘It’s usually just the dogs who get to see us watch TV, so we’re excited to welcome viewers into our home as we decompress in our favourite spot — the sofa.

‘We’ve been huge Gogglebox fans for years and we are thrilled to be taking part.’

Former Loose Women star Jane McDonald also revealed she had joined the spin-off with her best friend Sue on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Chris Packham told the Radio Times he would also be giving his verdict on the biggest TV shows on the show, along with his stepdaughter Megan McCubbin.

He said: ‘Gogglebox is a real barometer of what the nation is talking about. I am looking forward for Megan and I to add our two-bits to the conversation

Other stars on the Celebrity Gogglebox line-up include show stalwarts Denise Van Outen and Duncan James and Happy Mondays performers Shaun Ryder and Bez.

Celebrity Gogglebox starts on Friday, 16 June at 10PM on Channel 4.
