Young All-Girl Punk Band The Linda Lindas Sign With Epitaph Records After "Racist, Sexist Boy" Goes Viral

The Linda Lindas, an all-girl punk band with members aged between 10 and 16 years old, have officially signed with Epitaph Records after their live performance of “Racist, Sexist Boy” went viral.

The four-piece group — comprised of 10-year-old Mila, her 14-year-old sister Lucia, their 13-year-old cousin Eloise and their 16-year-old friend Bela — performed “Racist, Sexist Boy” in the L.A. Public Library for AAPI Heritage Month, with Mila explaining that a boy in her class was told by her father to “stay away from Chinese people” just before lockdown. “After I told him that I was Chinese, he backed away from me. Eloise and I wrote this song based on that experience,” she continued, dedicating the track to “all the other racist, sexist boys in this world.”

The LA-based band began playing together in 2018 and have since played alongside acts like Bikini Kill, Bleached and Best Coast, as well as earned the praise of industry giants such as Kathleen Hanna and Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine. They also appeared in Amy Poehler‘s latest Netflix film Moxie, which focuses on inclusive feminism in a modern-day setting.
