Clever ‘secret menu’ hack lets you enjoy KFC’s hash brown Double Down in the UK
Any foodie worth their salt knows that some of the best fast food dishes are found on each restaurant’s “secret menu”.
That means you order a couple of regular menu options and combine them to make an extra-tasty meal.
And, the latest trick people have created works at KFC.
The chicken chain recently began selling the Zinger Tower Double in Australia – it’s kind of like the UK’s Double Down but with extra fillings.
The burger has two Zinger fillets as the “buns” alongside a hash brown, a slice of cheese, and a tangy tomato sauce in the middle.
But, what use is that to us in the UK, you ask?
What's your favourite secret menu hack? Tell us in the comments…
Well, using this secret menu hack you can enjoy the Aussie meal in Britain.
Start off by ordering a Zinger Stacker Burger meal.
It comes with double sick chicken, cheese and a sweet chilli sauce which is similar in flavour profile to the tomato sauce on the Zinger Tower Double.
Remove the buns and put the chips in the middle of the burger to mimic the potato element provided by the hash brown.
You’re now basically eating a Double Down…
Or, you can order a boneless banquet meal, use the dip option for the Real Tomato dip and ask staff to throw in some cheese slices.
Now combine the three with some fries for an ad-hoc version of the Zinger Tower Double.
Once KFC stops running its limited menu – caused by the pandemic – then you should be able to get hash browns again (fingers crossed).
Which means you’ll be able to make an even better due for the Double Down.
Until then, try this hack to get as close to your protein-packed fave as possible.
