My stepdaughter lied about me hitting her and the police got involved – The Sun
DEAR DEIDRE: MY stepdaughter lied saying I hit her. Even though the police said there were no grounds to bring charges, the family still think I am guilty.
Me and my partner have been together for five years. Her daughter is 15 and her son is 17. We were a happy family until my stepdaughter started hanging out with the wrong crowd.
I grounded her for a week after she came home in the small hours. She started giving me lip and I lost my temper. I know it was wrong but I only shouted. She screamed and told my partner I hit her.
Her brother then told me to get out of their house. Next thing I had the police on my brother’s doorstep where I was staying and I was arrested.
I’m 41 and my partner is 39. She wants me back but her son is being awkward and she is too weak to tell the family we want to be happy and together.
DEIDRE SAYS: Your partner should have been taking responsibility for disciplining her daughter.
If she wants you back, she needs to stand up for your relationship.
