More than four months have passed since the nation – and our Queen – waved a sad goodbye to Prince Philip. But while the popular Duke of Edinburgh may have gone, he has certainly not been forgotten.
And a heartwarming picture of the prince, taken in the months before his death, appears alongside other intimate snaps of the royal family in a new photo exhibition. Also included is a dazzling – and now iconic – shot of Meghan and Harry's rain-soaked last UK engagement in a new photo exhibition. And beautiful pictures of Kate and Wills and their young family too.
The prestigious British Press Photographers’ Association (BPPA) Exhibition highlights the best snaps taken by members from April 2019 through to the recent developments in the pandemic.
Not many couples get to celebrate 73 years of marriage, so it was a tender moment shared by The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh as the couple looked at the cards they'd received from their grandchildren to celebrate their wedding anniversary in November last year. Sadly it turned out to be the last anniversary they would share, making the smiling moment even more poignant.
The royals, who were married in 1947 at Westminster Abbey, were photographed together on a sofa at Windsor Castle where the pair were spending lockdown in 2020.

The Duchess Of Cambridge looked utterly ravishing as she sheltered under Prince William's umbrella at the First Race as the horses parade in the ring at Royal Ascot. What a lady, and what class Kate exudes in this shot.

Ooozing the kind of glamour more commonly seen in showbiz circles than the royal family, it was a magic moment here shared between Meghan Markle and Prince Harry while they attended the Endeavour Fund Awards at Mansion House in London.
Taken in March 2020, it turned out to be the couple's first official joint appearance since their bombshell 'Megxit' announcement. And how smitten and in love they looked too while smiling at each other as they sheltered from the rain.
Our hearts melted as this cute shot of cheeky Princess Charlotte poking out her tongue at waiting photographers while her mum guided her, laughing at the King's Cup Regatta in August 2019. We can't wait to see what kind of teenager Princess Charlotte turns out to be – we expect Kate and Wills to have their hands full with this little lady!
How we adored the war veteran Captain Sir Tom Moore, who raised millions for the NHS in the first lockdown by walking 100 laps of his Bedfordshire garden on his zimmerframe.
As he walked his last lap, the total raised hit £12.2million and by May 1, when his fundraiser was closed, there was an astounding £32,794,071 raised.
It was just the feel good spirit Britain needed during the Covid-19 outbreak. He was knighted by Her Majesty in 2020 following a special recommendation from the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson. And we couldn't approve more. There were also celebrations for his 100th birthday, on April 30, 2020.
Supported by Canon UK and Fixation, Assignments 2021 is open from Friday August 27 until Sunday September 5 (11am to 6pm daily) at Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, Bargehouse Street on London'd Southbank. The exhibition is free to attend.
