Queen Letizia of Spain looked characteristically classy as she chaired a conference of healthcare bosses in Madrid.

The Spanish Royal, 50, was ready for business as she stepped out in a grey ensemble this morning, armed with an iPad.

At the working meeting of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), the Queen discussed strategies to tackle the disease with some of Spain’s leading cancer experts.

The Queen, who is the wife of King Felipe VI, 54, is the permanent honorary president of the association and its scientific foundation.

The typically stylish royal wore tailored light grey suit trousers, which she paired with a matching sleeveless grey overcoat, which she took off inside for the meeting.

Wrapping up warm for the chilly January weather, Letizia also donned a thick white polo neck jumper, which beautifully complemented her dark brunette tresses.

She paired the chic ensemble with black accessories – leather pointed heels and a simple satchel-style bag.

Subtle and chic: Her makeup and jewellery were somewhat pared back for the meeting

Her makeup and jewellery were pared back for the meeting, as she wore small diamond earrings and a subtle version of her well-known smokey eye with nude tones.

She was welcomed by the Chairman of Executive Council of the AECC, Ramon Reyes Bori, as she arrived.

The Queen beamed and waved at the cameras as the pair posed in front of the association’s headquarters in central Madrid for a photo ahead of the meeting.

Her visit came ahead of World Cancer Day on February 6, which the Queen marked last year as she presided over the ‘XI edition of the Forum against Cancer’ in Madrid.

Letizia is particularly active in the healthcare field and regularly visits hospitals to meet medical professionals and see the work being done.

Just before Christmas, the Queen visited the Hospital Nino Jesus, where she met with patients to learn about a new theatre project which aims to give a voice to the youngsters being treated there.

And in September, the mother-of-two took part in the ‘Cancer Tour’ conference in Lleida, Catalonia.

At the conference, she reportedly asked about the potential for integrative medicine in treating cancer patients during a question and answer session.

The Queen is also a keen advocate for tackling issues around mental health and helping young people.

She is the Honorary President of UNICEF Spain and the Ombudsman for Mental Health in Children and Adolescents, and has two teenage daughters – Princesses Leonor, 17 and Infanta, 15.
