Stabbing victim, 21, ‘desperately knocked on doors for help’ before dying
A 21-year-old man has been stabbed to death in Sheffield.
Emergency services rushed to the scene in the Southey area of the city, at about 10.15pm last night.
They found a young man who had suffered stab wounds to his chest.
Residents claim he had been desperately knocking on doors shouting "help" before an ambulance arrived.
One woman told The Star: "All I know is that he wasn't actually stabbed on the street but that he was trying to get help.
"I'd just come back from Tramlines and just saw all the police."
The victim was taken to hospital but died shortly afterwards.
Tributes have now been paid on social media, with one describing him as a "lovely kid".
Debbie Green posted on Facebook: “RIP young man you was such a lovely kid, thinking of all the family.”
Chezsta Japablo added: “Rest in paradise cuzzy. No words will describe the pain I feel for your loss or bring you back. I just want to know who’s done this to you.”
Hannah Shepherd said: “Devastating news – condolences to his family and friends. How many people have to be taken before something is seriously done?”
South Yorkshire Police confirmed a murder inquiry is underway.
Detective Chief Inspector Jade Brice said: “Enquiries are underway to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and where it occurred.
