’Stranger Things’ Is Coming to Life With Ice Cream Shop: See the Treats!
From the small screen to Burbank, California! A piece of Stranger Things is coming to life later this summer thanks to Baskin-Robbins. The eatery is turning back time to the summer of 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, as it unveils a real-life version of Scoops Ahoy, the iconic ice cream shop from the upcoming third season of the Netflix show.
Visitors to the Burbank Baskin-Robbins will be transported to the Starcourt Mall, and the locale will be re-created as the Scoops Ahoy ice cream shop exactly as the kids in Hawkins would have experienced it over 30 years ago.
That means customers can expect nautical décor and themed uniforms for staff members, among other unique touches. Per a press release, “the store will be transformed to give fans an experience ripped from the script.” Scoops Ahoy is scheduled to open on Tuesday, July 2, and will remain open through July 14.
L.A.-area fans of the show can also sink their teeth into July’s Flavor of the Month at the one-of-a-kind Scoops Ahoy ice cream “ship,” which will be serving up treats during the first week of the month at various southern California locations – including the opening of the Scoops Ahoy store on July 2 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
While Scoops Ahoy is located in the Golden State, Baskin-Robbins fans across the country will also have the chance to get a taste of the Stranger Things theme in-store in July. For example, the flavor of the month is USS Butterscotch, a decadent butterscotch-flavored ice cream with butterscotch pieces and a toffee-flavored ribbon that’s modeled after a variety Eleven and the gang might feast on during a trip to the Starcourt Mall.
Baskin-Robbins stores nationwide will also have exclusive in-store experiences, including a Scoops Ahoy photo moment to share all the Stranger Things love.
