High-rise bodysuits have been a major trend in recent years, but fashion brand Shein may have taken it too far with their latest all-in-one design.
The Dinosaur Print High Cut Tank Bodysuit, which retails at £4.49 here is being mocked by shoppers for its apparent impracticality and lack of modesty.
It all started when one user on the ChannelMum Facebook page shared a snap of the bodysuit, with the caption: “Errrm…thoughts?"
Likes and comments quickly flooded in from shoppers who couldn’t believe their eyes.
“It looks like a yeast infection waiting to happen,” one person says, as another adds: “You’re literally a sneeze away from being cut in half. I don’t need that sort of jeopardy with my clothes.”
A third asks: “Has she put it on back to front?”
While another notes, “Where's the rest of it,” posting laughing emojis.
The post has so far amassed over 380 likes and 717 comments, with many shoppers branding the design “ridiculous” and “uncomfortable”.
But despite their concerns, the dinosaur-printed body appears to be a huge hit on Shein’s website and has been rated 4.9 stars out of five in the review section.
“I love this thing, fits great and is super comfortable. It's all I want to wear, really flattering,” one happy shopper writes.
“This is so cutee gosssh, nice fabric,” another says, while a third adds; “This bodysuit is so sexy, I like it so much, and the design is also very nice.”
Shein’s controversial all-in-one features an adorable prehistoric print in a monochrome colour palette, with the brand describing the piece as “skinny fit” with a “slight stretch”.
The bodysuit comes in sizes 6-16 and is modelled on site with a pair of raw-hem denim shorts, chunky biker boots and 90s-style sunglasses.
Whether you’re a fan of the design or not, Shein’s website is full of similar styles which appear to be flying off the shelves.
The search term “high cut bodysuit” brings up a whopping 36,796 results in a whole range of colours, prints and fabrics.
We don’t know about you, but we think we’ll stick to our comfy clothes…
