Woman left ‘speechless’ by ex-boyfriend’s loving text the day before his wedding

A woman says she was left speechless by her ex-boyfriend's loving text which came the day before his wedding to another girl.

Alexsa Sanchez Aguilar shared a message from her former partner on Twitter which thanked her for teaching him what love is.

He told Alexsa her heart was amazing, that she had always encouraged and took care of him.

The ex wished her all the happiness and said she deserved someone who shows her love and loyalty every day.

Alexsa's post has gone viral – and she has even shared her response which thanked the mystery man for his kind words.

When asked why they'd split up, Alexsa explained that they were young, and had lost a mutual friend to suicide which made them have respect for each other.

The reaction to the ex's message has been mixed though, with some appreciating the touching nature of it, but others thinking it's 'weird'.

The ex-boyfriend wrote: "I'm getting married tomorrow.

"I wanted to send this message. (My fiancé knows I'm sending this to you).

"Thank you for being my first love. Thank you for always encouraging me, thank you for keeping me out of trouble, thank you for the times you took care of me when I was sick, and depressed.

"Thank you for loving me. If you haven't already I hope one day you find love.

"If you loved me that much when we were young I can only imagine how strong and powerful your love is now.

"The way your heart is made it's amazing.

"I know we were only kids when we dated but you taught me what love is.

"To the man who is lucky enough to have you as their wife I hope he treats you with care, I hope he knows who he has in front of him, I hope he shows you love and loyalty every day. You deserve that and more.

"My point in all of this is, you are the reason why I know how to love someone.

"You taught me love, you taught me how to deal with my anger and how to live life to the fullest and I'm grateful for you.

"I wish you love and happiness.(sic)"

The comments on social media were mixed – with some crediting the ex for being mature while others thinking it was too weird.

One said: "So basically thanking u for molding him to be the perfect husband to someone that’s not u? feels unnecessary."

Another wrote: "If I was the new girl I’d be a little weirded out that you wanted to send a paragraph to ur ex girlfriend & express your feelings.. in my opinion, that’s weird."

And another said: "This isn’t beautiful to me. BUT that’s me."

One, interpreting the message positively, said: "Imagine having an ex this mature."

Many were intrigued as to what Alexsa's response was, so she posted her message back.
