YG Lampoons Donald Trump in New "Jealous" Video
After recently releasing My Life 4Hunnid — his fifth studio album — West Coast rapper YG has returned with the visual for “Jealous,” one of the record’s standout cuts. Clocking in at 2:36, the short clip lampoons a frequent target of YG’s ire: US president Donald Trump, who just days before the video’s release returned to the White House after a weekend stay at the Walter Reed Medical Center for emergency coronavirus treatment.
The video starts with a shadowy figure playing the piano, one who’s quickly revealed to be a Trump impersonator wearing caked-on makeup. This somewhat tranquil setting quickly gives way to absolute chaos, with the leader of the free world throwing signs in front of Air Force 1 before moving to the Oval Office to partake in a rambunctious party with strippers and piles of cash. DJT and his female companions then head back to Air Force 1 to continue the festivities. Although YG himself does not appear in the video, the Trump impersonator continues his shenanigans by throwing more signs, rapping to himself in the mirror, hugging the US flag and more.
At the video’s end, YG makes it clear he’s sending a message about the sordid state of affairs in the country by rounding off the shenanigans with a poignant “Go Vote” message. Of course, this is far from the first time YG has taken aim at Trump — in 2016, he released “FDT” featuring the late Nipsey Hussle, and in years past a Trump impersonator has often been part of his live performances.
