Anna Maxwell Martin is a recognisable face of British television, having starred in series including Motherland, Line of Duty and Code 404. She is back again for Hollington Drive, an intense drama on ITV about a family in ruins at the thought of their children being involved in the disappearance of a local boy. Martin will portray Theresa, a mum concerned about what her 10-year-old son is capable of.

As per Hollington Drive’s synopsis, “secrets and lies begin to surface” after Alex Boyd goes missing.

With Theresa (played by Anna Maxwell Martin) and her older sister Helen (Rachael Stirling) pillars of the community, they are very much at the heart of the search for Alex.

But as time goes on, Theresa starts to question her own son Ben’s whereabouts on the day that Alex went missing.

Could he have had something to do with his classmate’s disappearance or is it just a coincidence?

Who was Anna Maxwell Martin married to?

Martin was married to TV and film director Roger Michell for 18 years.

The couple had two daughters together Maggie and Nancy, with Roger also having another two children from a previous relationship.

After nearly two decades of marriage, he and Martin separated last year.

He most famously directed the 1999 romcom classic Notting Hill starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.

Over the years, Roger also worked with the likes of Judi Dench, Samuel J Jackson and Harrison Ford.

Some of his other works include The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies, My Cousin Rachel, Blackbird, Enduring Love and Morning Glory.

He also worked on singer Ellie Goulding’s music video for How Long Will I Love You.

Sadly, the director made the news last week as he died at the age of 65.

As of yet, the cause of death is still unknown.

While Martin hasn’t said anything publicly about his death, some of his previous colleagues have.

Actress Julia Roberts tweeted that he was a “kind and gentle man” who “always had a sweet grin on his face”.

Actress Samantha Morton wrote that he was “a wonderful director with huge integrity and compassion”.

She added that this was “a huge loss to stage and screen”.

Hollington Drive is kicking off this evening with the first episode of the mini-series.

The drama is going to be made up of a total of four episodes.

A new instalment will air every Wednesday night for the next month until the big finale on Wednesday, October 20.

Hollington Drive is airing every Wednesday at 9pm on ITV.
