BBC bosses have unveiled who will replace lead Jodie Whittaker in Doctor Who.
The news is finally out after months of fans wondering who could follow in the first female Time Lord's almighty footsteps, as 29 year old actor Ncuti Gatwa is set to take over.
Posting the news on their official Twitter page Sunday 8 May, the series announced: "The future is here! Ncuti Gatwa is the Doctor," as fans went wild.
"Yes!! Love him," one person shrieked in excitement.
"I CAN’T FREAKING BELIEVE IT!!! Eric from Sex Education is the Doctor!!!" another squealed.
A third fan commented: "Called it. The Fourteenth Doctor was gonna be an actor who is not very well known. Looking forward to seeing what he brings to the table!"
While a fourth person said: "An actor with exceptional talent for an iconic role. What’s not to like?"
Scottish star Ncuti, who was born in Rwanda, is over the moon to take over the role, calling it a "unique responsibility".
"This role and show means so much to so many around the world, including myself, and each one of my incredibly talented predecessors has handled that unique responsibility and privilege with the utmost care," he told the BBC.
"I will endeavour my upmost to do the same."
It's A Sin writer Russell T Davies, who was previously the showrunner for Doctor Who in 2009, is also returning to his role.
Ncuti is an incredible addition to the series, having become best known for his scene-stealing turn in Netflix favourite Sex Education as Eric Effiong.

It is also an important moment for such an announcement, as the BAFTA TV awards show is set to air today.
In a perfect connection to the ceremony, the Eric star was awarded the coveted Best Actor Award at the Scottish BAFTAs back in 2020.
