Billie Faiers rules out Dancing on Ice return after she was forced to quit with injury

BILLIE Faiers has ruled out a return to Dancing on Ice after she was forced to quit with an injury.

The Mummy Diaries star, 31, who found fame on Towie, said she wouldn't go back to the ITV show after what has been a "very difficult time for her personally."

Billie was devastated after the sudden death of her  beloved Nanny Wendy aged 77 when she was on the show.

Shortly afterwards she suffered an injury and was forced to pull out of the show.

She faced further heartache when just six weeks after her Nanny Wendy's death, her granddad Mick passed away after a long battle with cancer.

Speaking at the star-studded Peter Rabbit 2 premiere, Billie, told The Sun: "I wouldn't go back and do it again. I think I've done it now so it's in the past. I have just about recovered from my injury.

Billie, who is mum to Nelly, six, and Arthur, three, added: "It has been a very difficult year for me personally too, so it's not something I'd do again. It was so unfortunate that there were so many injuries in this last show. It was really unlucky."

The Sun revealed Dancing on Ice bosses were forced to end the series early after a spate of injuries and Covid dropouts.

Producers took the decision to bring the ITV show’s final forward to March 14, rather than March 21, due to a lack of celebrities.

The unprecedented move came after a series of freak injuries and two coronavirus diagnoses.

It wasn't just Billie, who banged her head on the ice, who fell victim to the 'curse' of season 13.

Denise Van Outen fractured her shoulder in a rehearsal accident, and Jason Donovan could not return after a painful back injury.

Myleene Klasssuffered from a torn ligament and a broken toe.

Pro-skater Hamish Gaman snapped a tendon in his hand, and pro-skater Yebin Mok – suffered a stab wound from a skate blade that ‘exposed her tendons.

Bosses even had to call on both stand-in celebrities for the first time in the programme’s 13 year history.

A show source said: “Everybody is absolutely gutted that it’s come to this.

“But ultimately, due to injuries and shooting the show during a pandemic, they’ve been left with no choice."
