Brassic fans have seen a familiar face in the latest series of the show, as Coronation Street's Jude Riordan resumed his role as Michelle Keegan’s on-screen son.

The youngster is now best-known for playing Sam Blakeman, Nick Tilsley’s secret son, in Corrie but he also star as Tyler on the hit Sky One programme.

Speaking to St Helens Star at the time of him bagging his role as Sam, Jude’s mum Kellie discussed her son’s love of acting.

She said: “Jude is very cool, he just loves being on set and then when he's home he's just like every other boy and he's at school or playing with his friends. When he appears on TV, we shout him through and he watches it, then carries on again.”

"It's surreal to have our son on Corrie, because it's Coronation Street and you try to watch it and take on board the story line but we just see our Jude.”

His doting mother added that she feels the same way when she sees Jude on Brassic.

Jude made his Coronation Street debut in October 2020, and has been at the centre of a number of storylines during his time in Weatherfield, including one where he was kidnapped.

Since joining the cast, Jude has gone on to become the youngest person to win a National Television Award.

The 10 year old, who hails from St Helens, Merseyside, beat other nominees to scoop the Best Newcomer award at London's O2 Arena last month.

After receiving the award, Jude said to the crowd: “Oh my word, oh my word, this is amazing.”

“I would like to say thank you to all my fans who voted for me, my Corrie cast and crew for helping me, and my family for supporting me."

Jude isn’t the only Corrie youngster to win an NTA over the years; Sam Aston, who plays well-loved character Chesney, also won a Newcomer NTA in 2004 when he was just 11 years old.
