Simon Cowell insists offensive comics won’t be tolerated

SIMON Cowell revealed that any "moments of controversy" will be edited in the upcoming series of Britain's Got Talent.

The nation's best talent show returns to our screens this Easter weekend and there's much to look forward to.

Simon admitted he was thankful auditions weren't live when it comes to comedians as the show can edit out any offensive content.

The 62-year-old exclusively told The Sun: "There's always moments of controversy, especially with some of the comedians, you're like 'woah'.

"Luckily those aren't live. We have the edit so we really consider carefully what will be shown and what won't be shown.

We have a lot to choose from. No one will be 'doing a Will Smith' and slapping someone on stage. We haven't had that yet."

Explained: Where are the Britain's Got Talent auditions?

Auditions for Britain's Got Talent 2022 kicked off at the start of January 2022 at the London Palladium in the West End.

Acts need three or more yeses to make it through, although once again the golden buzzer has returned.

The audition stage is now over though, so you can't apply to be in the live audience.

However, you can catch the action on TV for the next few weeks and get tickets to the semi-finals.

Simon Cowell on BGT returning this year

Talking about missing out on a year of BGT for the first-time in the show's history due to the pandemic, judge Simon Cowell said: "As much as I didn’t want to not make the show last year, we just couldn’t at that point, it would have been literally impossible.

"We had to stop it at the last moment – it was a difficult decision to make but it was the right one.

"I think off the back of that, when we did all get back together, we realised how much we enjoy making the show.

"We did miss each other, we get on and work well together."
