Coronation Street fans all have the same complaint about Roy's Rolls – but can you see why?

CORONATION Street viewers had a bone to pick with long-running cafe Roy's Rolls.

Fans of the ITV soap were too distracted by the state of the cafe run by veteran Corrie character Roy Cropper to notice the drama unfolding before them.

They called for the cafe to be remodelled or at the very least given a bit of a clean as they complained of it being "dirty".

“#Corrie The walls in #RoysRolls are so dirty I’m sure the place would be closed down!!” complained one fan on Twitter.

Another added: “#Corrie Roy Cropper your standards have slipped!! Where’s your hygiene certificate??? Get the marigolds out!!! #DirtAlert.”

And a third wrote: “Think looking at Roys Rolls could do with a complete decoration job it’s a s**t hole #corrie.”

Despite it's vintage decor, Roy's Rolls is no stranger to big changes.

In 2010, the artificial food in the cafe had to be replaced with real food when the show went HD and more recently animal rights group PETA begged show bosses to "turn Roy's Rolls vegan."

The animal rights campaigners asked show producer Iain McLeod to follow in the footsteps of rival EastEnders by going meat-free.

The Sun can revealed in a letter sent to the show they cited environmental concerns, as well as the rise of deadly pathogens linked to animals, as a reason to go vegan.

And PETA Director Elisa Allen wrote: "Serving vegan meat, milk, cheese, and more at the Rovers Return and Roy's Rolls would put Corrie in good company: EastEnders will soon serve meat-free meals at the Queen Vic and Kathy's, on the advice of the show's new eco-consultant."

She then asked Corrie to take the lead on the issue as "tastemakers".
