Hope Stape (played by Isabella Flanagan) was diagnosed with behavioural problems back in 2017 and since then, Coronation Street fans have seen her cause no end of trouble; from setting a trampoline on fire which she blamed on her step-sister Ruby Dobbs (Macy Alabi) after planting a lighter amongst her belongings, to locking them in a room with an active saw, which Ruby also took the blame for after a key was found in her pocket – which had been planted by Hope again. The troublesome child also tried to force her cousin Joseph Brown (William Flanagan) to jump down the stairs. But, when Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) moved in, Hope clashed with the battle-axe, but she got revenge by sending Evelyn’s beloved dog away on a train. Hope’s mother, Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) was so concerned about her daughter’s behaviour she moved to her a specialist unit to receive treatment and ever since, Fiz thinks Hope has turned a corner – until now. With Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and Fiz splitting up after he fell in love with Alina Pop (Ruzandra Porojnicu), Hope has been displaying her mischievous side once more – but will she go as far as hurting Alina so she miscarries the baby? Some fans seem to think so.
Next week, Fiz meets up with reporter Chris again to discuss doing a follow-up article after the success of the first one.
Word gets around to Tyrone, who is seething at the idea, and Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) advises his mate to ditch the idea of writing his own as no one will want to him badmouth Fiz.
Chris tells Fiz about approaching Tyrone for his side of the story and she feels the need to confront him and when she spots him in the cafe, she makes a scene.
Later that evening, Corrie fans will see Fiz meet up with Phill Whittaker (Jamie Kenna) in Speed Daal and they instantly hit it off.
But they are spotted by Tyrone who calls in for a takeaway and when he sees Fiz is out enjoying herself, he is left feeling irked.
The next day, Fiz asks Tyrone whether he can look after the girls that evening as Phill would like to take her out on a second date, he refuses, telling her he’s taking Alina out for dinner.
In the knowledge that Fiz and Phill will be there, Tyrone takes Alina to the Bistro for their dinner date and watches Fiz like a hawk which only annoys Alina who soon feigns a headache and leaves Tyrone to head home.
When he goes to pay the bill, Tyrone can’t resist making snide remarks at Fiz and Phill’s expense, but his bravado turns to embarrassment when his card is declined.
In a bid to make peace, Phill pays Tyrone’s bill leaving him utterly humiliated, as a result, Tyrone takes a drunken swing at Phill causing him to trip and fall flat on his face.
It is only going to be a matter of time before Hope starts causing more problems for Tyrone and Fiz, and undoubtedly, it is going to be a case of when, rather than if the child lashes out and tells Tyrone she hates him, Alina and the baby.
Could she take drastic action and actively hurt Alina and the baby?
Taking to Twitter, one theorised: “Prediction: Alina tragically suffers a heartbreaking Miscarriage. Tyrone in his grief once again turns to Fiz leading them to eventually reunite #Corrie.”
“How long before Hope punches Alina so she miscarries #Corrie,” someone else suggested.
A third chimed: “I got a bad feeling that Alina’s gonna miscarry #Corrie.”
It comes after last month when Alina tried to bond with Hope and suggested they spend some time having beauty treatments, but it backfired and Hope successfully drove a wedge between her stepfather and his girlfriend.
“You made them look stupid!” Hope shouted and the beautician replied: “Maybe I made them a bit too long, but I was just trying to do something nice for you.”
“I hate them and I’m stuck with them forever,” the child stropped and Alina continued: ““So dramatic, I’ve told you I can take them off?”
“No way you’re touching my eyes again,” Hope exclaimed and Alina turned around and commented: “Hope! Please! Can we just try and get along?
“You can try, can’t you? We were getting on so well before. Can we just be friends? There’s no point falling out.”
Realising the child had backed down, Alina continued to walk along the Street: “We can go back and watch investigators and I can take those lashes off for you, I promise it won’t hurt.”
But a screech of car tyres jolted Alina around: “Hope! What on earth are you doing? Why would you do that?”
“Are you alright? She just appeared – out of nowhere. She just stepped into the road,” Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) asked worried for the child who had just stepped in front of his car.
“I heard the brakes screech, did I do a bad job?” Tyrone joked coming out of the garage. “Hope, what are you doing here?”
“She’s fine, she ran into the road, in front of Ronnie’s car,” Alina explained. “I think she did it on purpose to scare me. We were arguing and then – it was silly a misunderstanding – I think we should just take her home.”
“This is great, Fiz is going to love this,” Tyrone remarked.
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
