Debby Ryan's Heartbreaking Goodbye to 'Jessie' Costar Cameron Boyce: 'Bittersweet Celebration of a Life'
Actress Debby Ryan shared a touching goodbye to her friend and Jessie co-star Cameron Boyce on her Instagram account, posting a video that showed a table of memories to honor the late actor. Cameron Boyce died suddenly on July 6 after suffering a seizure in his sleep.
A collection of fond memories
Ryan made a brief video of the memories of Boyce collected on the table, which included a frame message that read: “Please share your favorite stories and memories of Cameron with the Boyce family.”
The table included numerous photos of the actor, flowers, aLos Angeles Laker’s jean jacket and shirt, and a collection of notes that peopleleft of their favorite Boyce memories.
Ryan captioned the video with a sweet goodbye paying tribute to her friend: “this effervescent soul attracted art, respect, poetry, kindness, community — what a gift to be brought together today in a deeply bittersweet celebration of a life we were so fortunate to intersect with. His mom told me ‘He is our compass.’ and it’s showing, as all directions have pointed to love and light and togetherness. We love you Cameron. Thank you for what you’ve given us, and continue to give us.”

Ryan paid tribute: ‘the world was robbed’
Ryan wrote a heartbreaking tribute to Boyce last week on Instagram,noting alongside a collection of photos of the two together: “This ripped meup. I keep trying and I can’t make anything make sense. He was blameless,and relentlessly joyful; he was good. Through and through, Cam is good, in allways and to all people. And the most alive.”
She continued: “It’s wrong. I am so confused and devastatedand angry. But that isn’t very Cam. He’d cast any shade of sadness or darknessin colors of positivity; he couldn’t help himself but to always leave yousmiling, or laughing, or dancing. So sincere, kid Truth. He was good.”
Ryan explained her sadness for Boyce’s family and noted she was “grateful for our Jessie family, with whom to uniquely grieve our guy…”
She concluded her tribute by noting: “There are beautiful connections and beams of light, ever present, truly the fingerprints of Cam still around and showing up in the midst of this. I love him so much. Forever. You’re alive in the legacy of love you built, and I will keep that light burning in me for the rest of my journey. The world was robbed. We’re better for you.”

Boyce’s family launched a foundation
Boyce’s family launched a foundation in the late actor’s honor called the Cameron Boyce Foundation. The charity’s website explained that it “provides young people artistic and creative outlets as alternatives to violence and negativity and uses resources and philanthropy for positive change in the world.”
His family is also launching a social media campaign in Boyce’s memory, called “Wielding Peace.”
