EastEnders' Louisa Lytton retrained as a barber when acting roles dried up – before returning to the soap
EASTENDERS' Louisa Lytton retrained as a barber when her acting roles dried up after leaving the soap – before returning in 2018.
The pregnant 32-year-old star proudly showed off her diploma from the London Beauty Institute on Instagram yesterday.
It revealed that the actress had turned to men's hairdressing during a dry spell in her career, achieving the diploma in foundation barbering in November 2014.
Louisa told her social media followers: "Let's talk about when I'm out of work and I decide I want to do other things like barbering."
She giggled: "I don't think I've cut anyone's hair since my dad's in 2014 when I passed."
The star was just 16 years old when she first landed the role of Ruby Allen in EastEnders in 2005, leaving the BBC One soap the following year.
During her break, she appeared in The Bill as PC Beth Green from 2007 to 2009 – but was later forced to look into other career options to help pay the bills when castings didn't come her way.
Louisa returned to Walford in 2018 and has remained a firm favourite among fans ever since.
The mum-to-be was going through her old possessions when she stumbled upon the barbering certificate – and also shared some of her other memories with followers.
She couldn't control her laughter as she revealed embarrassing throwback photos from the 00s, which saw her sporting an attention-grabbing tan.
Louisa also left fiance Ben Bhanvra hot under the collar when she unearthed a copy of FHM from 2009, which included a sexy photoshoot of his future wife.
The couple have had to postpone their wedding twice amid coronavirus restrictions that made planning and hosting the big day a nightmare.
They are now expecting their first child in September, with Louisa previously admitting she'd have ideally liked to have tied the knot first.
