Ed Sheeran’s touring income drops from £70million to just £591 during lockdown

DURING his record-breaking touring days Ed Sheeran was trousering £192,000 A DAY from live shows.

But it’s fair to say that particular income stream has taken a pretty steep nose dive — with the singer songwriter now picking up just £1.62 a day.

A source said: “Ed’s accounts for his company Hayagotatourboi Touring make for funny reading.

“He has absolutely raked it in from his tours and in the past three years the firm has made more than £250million.

“Ed made so much cash it worked out at him earning £192,000 a day.

"But now he’s taken a break he’s living a little more like us, with a daily income of £1.62.”

Ed’s Divide tour in 2019 was the highest grossing of all time, with him earning £587million after selling 8.9million tickets across six continents.

But he then decided to step back from playing for his millions of fans to work on his No1 album Equals.

GMB shock as show is CANCELLED between Xmas and New Year amid Covid fears

The Thinking Out Loud singer’s account from touring for the 12 months to the end of March 2020 held £70million. Twelve months later that same account had £591 in it.

The insider added: “Taking a break from music in 2019 and working on Equals is the reason the cash flow in the account has dropped down.

"Ed will go back out on the road next year with his + – = ÷ x tour, and given it will have been three years since his last tour, it’s likely he’ll make even more cash than before.”

As long as this pandemic doesn’t put paid to any of the dates, Ed should be just fine.

He is preparing to play a mammoth number of shows across the UK and Ireland.

The demand for tickets saw him adding extra dates, with Ed booking in to play a huge five nights at Wembley arena, alongside three additional shows in the Irish Republic and others in Belfast, Cardiff, Sunderland and Manchester.

Ed kicks off his Mathematics tour in Cork on April 28 next year and will play across the UK before he heads to Europe in July.

He will remain on the road until late September, finishing the European leg with three back-to-back nights in , Germany.

If Ed doesn’t beat his takings from his Divide tour I would be amazed.

Joel can't wait to get stuffed

THE countdown to Christmas is in full swing for Joel Corry – with the DJ looking forward to his one “cheat day” of the year.

The Out Out tunesmith has been working hard – and working out even harder – in 2021.

But Joel says December 25 is the one day he lets himself go and doesn’t think about further honing his steely abs.

In an exclusive chat, Joel said: “Christmas Day is the cheat day. That’s what I look forward to the most every year.

“I plan a schedule of what I’m eating and when I’m eating it, to get it all in on Christmas Day.

“I’m very much looking forward to that – the turkey, the pigs-in-blankets, the Brussels sprouts and all the trimmings. My mum does a good job at Christmas dinner.

“Then there’s a cheeseboard and the mulled wine is coming out, the Baileys is coming out . . . ”

Joel can celebrate an incredible 2021, which included huge tours here and in the US as well as two Brit nominations. He will take a well-earned break next month – his first time off in a year.

Joel said: “Christmas is a very busy time for me because everyone is in the party spirit.

“Then we’ve got New Year’s Eve and I’ve got a big show at Tobacco Dock in East London, which is going to be amazing.

“Then I might take a holiday in January. I find January is my favourite time to take a break because for DJing, that’s a quiet time. I’ll get away, get a bit of sun, relax and come back ready for another big year.”

When I told Joel he probably needs that break, he added: “You sound like my mum. My mum’s like, ‘Make sure you go on holiday!’ I’m like, ‘I will, Mum!’”

She sounds like a wise woman.

Adele still in top spot

LOTS of us will be unwrapping Adele's 30 on Christmas morning, her latest record is on course to be the No1 album for a fifth consecutive week.

Last night it was placed to again be the best-selling record of the week, ahead of Equals by Ed Sheeran, which is on track to go to No2 on Friday.

If Adele does hold on to top spot, 30 will tie with Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour for the most weeks this year in pole position.

If she can stay there until the final chart of 2021, issued on New Year’s Eve, Adele will be able to claim that title all for herself.

Dua hot foots it to the country

DUA LIPA showed Anwar Hadid what he is missing while he is on the other side of the Atlantic.

The Levitating singer posed in this white bikini and enormous, furry snow boots as she joined her pals for a break in the Great British countryside ahead of Christmas.

As well as frolicking in a hot tub, Dua and her friends enjoyed country walks and pamper sessions in the Cotswolds.

She shared the snaps with her 76.3million followers on Instagram, captioning them “Jolly good”, with a Christmas tree emoji.

Dua and model Anwar have not been pictured together for seven weeks.

Sources close to the couple said they were having a break after their hectic work schedules kept them apart.

Anwar would be a fool to let Dua out of his life – and I’m sure after seeing these photographs he will have been right on the phone.

Dan Brit stoned

BASTILLE frontman Dan Smith has suggested he was drugged at the Brit Awards in 2013.

He was at the bash on his own, weeks before the release of the band’s debut album Bad Blood.

He explained to the Straight Up podcast: “I was sat at this table among a bunch of label people and pop stars and stuff and I was like, ‘I’m not going to drink tonight because I’ve got to be up at like 4am to go to the Netherlands to do a live radio thing at 7am’.

“Then someone at the table, who will remain nameless, was putting things in drinks.

“I went from being completely sober, not really wanting to be there, to being on my chair at the ceremony dancing to an Emeli Sande supermix.”

Nicola's Beck on form

NICOLA PELTZ oozed confidence in this slinky black dress.

And given the constant barrage of compliments she gets from her fiancé Brooklyn Beckham, I’m not surprised she feels good.

The US model and actress shared the snap on Instagram with the caption: “Brooklyn took some pics of me before a wedding.”

Quick as a flash, he chipped in: “My gorgeous gorgeous baby.”

Given his gushing messages of love online, I’m sure he will spare no expense come Saturday.
