Gary Lineker fans fume time to turn off as Sitting on a Fortune returns

Some fans claim to “turn off” Gary Lineker’s ITV show Sitting on a Fortune on Sunday night.

The football pundit welcomed contestants Jacqui, Garren, Anika, Susanne, Rob and Julian, who had to answer a number of questions in the hopes of winning the £100,000 jackpot.

The players positioned themselves in a row of seats one behind another, with one wrong answer seeing them relegated to the back of the line and in real danger of leaving with nothing.

ITV viewers took to social media to share their thoughts on Gary’s quiz show and while some were loving it, others weren’t so keen.

@ImpartialEyes complained: “Never underestimate #ITV… when you thought things could not be any worse following the #ThisMorning debacle they heap more misery upon their viewers by bringing back #SittingOnAFortune with Mr no-personality Lineker.”

@EnfieldGarry tweeted: “I thought this would be on BBC One. #SittingOnAFortune.”

Gary also took to Twitter to encourage his followers to watch quiz the quiz show, although, they didn’t seem so keen.

WelshWalshy replied: “First time watching this. Good god, it’s awful.”

However, despite the criticism, after Rob won the £50,000 jackpot, fans praised the show, with @clairdan3 tweeting: “First time I watched your quiz @GaryLineker, enjoyed it and chuffed for Rob. x #SittingonaFortune.”

Sitting on a Fortune returns next Sunday at 7pm on ITV.
