Gavin and Stacey fans flock to watch stars James Corden and Rob Brydon film Christmas special – The Sun
CHRISTMAS has come early to Barry Island as Gavin and Stacey filming continued for its festive special.
Fans were out in force to watch the James Corden and Rob Brydon shoot outside Stacey's famous terrace house in Barry.
Kids and adults filled the top of the road – sitting on car roofs and perching on walls – as they desperately tried to get a glimpse of the stars.
And last night James proved a crowd-pleaser as he took selfies with dedicated fans.
While the cast – including Mat Horne and Joanna Page laughed and giggled between takes as they walked along in front of an array of outdoor Christmas decorations, things looked a lot more serious once the cameras were rolling.
Joanna, who plays Stacey, looked upset in one moment, wearing a checked coat and a festive red dress.
Another moment saw the actress pointing with an equally emotional look on her face while co-star Mat – who plays her partner Gavin – followed her gaze.
The couple – who were expecting their first child at the end of the third series – could be seen chatting underneath a large Christmas tree, but fans will have to wait and see what the tense scenes are about.
Earlier this year, James, 40 and co-writer Ruth Jones revealed the beloved characters will be returning for a one-off episode after 10 years off-air.
All of the key cast members have been spotted reprising their roles as they shot on location, with Christmas decorations being put up on the street to set the scene in preparation for its Christmas Day premiere.
The cast were previously spotted filming at Gwen [Melanie Walters] home in the seaside town – with Rob Brydon's character, Uncle Bryn, famously living across the road.
Earlier this week, former EastEnders' star Larry Lamb claimed that the much-anticipated reboot is "perfect" as he was quizzed about the special on Loose Women.

The 71-year-old actor dished: "As far as I'm concerned the one thing they've managed to do, it's very clever because everybody's waiting for it, everybody's been going on about it for ten years.
"I was just at the point where I was going to have a tattoo saying: 'I don't know, don't ask me' – and then I get a phone call from James Corden and then I have to carry it around for two months until it all finally came through and then I got to read a script.
"They've not tried to turn it into a great big sort of circus or something, they've rolled it on and there you are ten years down the line. Everything you want is going to be there. Everything."
