Who is Paul Whitehouse?

Paul Whitehouse was born in May 1958 – making him 64.

He is originally from Wales, his dad worked for the National Coal Board and his mum was a Welsh opera singer.

The family moved to Enfield, North London, when he was four and he said it was other children laughing at his accent that helped him become so good at mimicry.

He went to the University of East Anglia but dropped out and lived in a flat in Hackney, east London, occasionally working as a plasterer.

Paul originally started writing comedy with Charlie Higson, both still working as tradesman during the day.

They were doing some work on a house shared by Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie and that was said to have inspired them.

Paul met Harry Enfield in a local pub and before long he asked him to write for him for his new show.

The comedian also collaborated with the former frontman of The Maccabees' in 2017, lending his voice to Orlando Weeks' tale, The Gritterman.

Paul is best known for his work with Enfield.

They first appeared together on Saturday Live on Radio 4 where Paul showcased his characters Loadsmoney and Stavros the Greek kebab owner.

He then began performing in Harry Enfield's Television Programme.

On top of Paul's massive success in The Fast Show, he starred in Harry and Paul from 2007 until 2012.

The pair also created An Evening with Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse in 2015 to celebrate 25 years together.
