'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' Season 15 Premiere Date and How to Watch

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans have been waiting for season 15 ever since FX renewed the show for four more seasons. That takes the comedy through season 18. At this rate, that’s not likely to be the end either, but four at a time is a good commitment. Now, FX has announced the season 15 premiere, with two ways to watch.

When does ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Season 15 premiere?

FX announced It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 15 premieres Dec. 15. That’s barely two months since they wrapped filming on Oct. 6. They only began filming season 15 in August due to coronavirus (COVID-19) delays.

Season 15 also sets a new record for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. With the first of these eight episodes, Sunny surpasses The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriett as the longest running live-action comedy. They’re still a ways behind the animated comedy The Simpsons, but that’s a milestone they’ve earned. FX released this statement.

Like a fine Irish whiskey, Sunny’s distinct flavor has gotten richer and intensified through the years. First barreled in 2005, the show has become a landmark for dark comedy and American satire, uniting the most devoted of fans from all over the country and abroad, and this monumental 15th season is truly one to crack open and celebrate. Continuing to deliver some of the hardest laughs on television while tackling society’s most pressing issues, Sunny turns its fearless focus both outward and inward: to a national and international level but also to a deeply personal level.

Where to watch ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Season 15

FX offers two ways to watch It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 15. It will air Thursdays at 10 p.m. on FXX, the sister broadcast cable network to FX. Dec. 1 will feature two episodes back to back.

If you don’t want to watch live or forget to set your DVR, FX has you covered. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 15 episodes will stream on FX on Hulu the Fridays after they air on FXX.

Look forward to these Season 15 episodes

Creator Rob McElhenney already announced that the first It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 15 episode is called “2020: A Year in Review.”  FX provided some more insight into upcoming episodes.

Season 15 of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is definitely going to address COVID-19. The gang never met a crisis they couldn’t make about themselves, so one of the episodes will involve “exploiting pandemic aid.”

The season will also see the gang tackle cancel culture. That’s a phrase that’s mainly come into being since season 14. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans can imagine any number of prior exploits that would warrant canceling the gang. We can’t wait to see how they rally against it.

The It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 15 artwork shows the gang dressed in green Irish attire. FX also indicates they will cross the Atlantic Ocean and return to their roots, so that suggests a trip to Ireland. In fact, the season premiere announcement includes the familiar show opening, with a new location.

“10:00 PM…

On a Wednesday…

In Ireland.”

Who knew they were actually Irish? Paddy’s Pub just seemed like an excuse to drink all day. McElhenney, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito return.
