The Brit Awards presenter Jack Whitehall has joked that he needed to go on a “Hollywood diet” ahead of the big night after he “let himself go” during lockdown.

Speaking in the run-up to the star-studded music awards ceremony, which airs live tonight on ITV, Jack likened himself to film star Orlando Bloom and said he’d be working hard to achieve a “Hollywood physique.”

Detailing how he gets himself show ready, Jack, 32, said: “Yes it's back on the Hollywood diet for me in the run up to The Brits, having let myself go during lockdown…”

“I’m going full Bloom – Orlando Bloom – in preparation of being back on stage,” he continued.

“It’ll have to be brain oil and new oats, whatever it is you need to get that Hollywood physique…There will be training sessions and Peloton rides to be camera ready.”

And it’s clear Jack can’t wait to be back on stage to help introduce the big winners of the night – his fourth year hosting in a row.

Speaking about landing the gig, Jack said: “I must be doing something right to be invited back to host the Brits.”

“After the events of the past year, I think we can all do with a big night of music and entertainment, and I'm excited to be part of the show.”

And it’s set to be one to remember with some top performances from the likes of chart toppers Dua Lipa, Griff, Arlo Parks, Olivia Rodrigo, Headie One, Rag n Bone Man and P!nk with the NHS Choir.

There will also be a special nod to the key workers who dedicated their time to the country during the pandemic.

Speaking about what viewers can expect when they tune in, Jack continued: “It’ll be a significant moment – back in a room with music and songs.”

“We’re putting on a show with key workers in the audience, people who most deserve a night to let their hair down. It will be very special – we will have heroes in the room.”

Jack is presenting the main show from London’s 02 from 8pm until 10.15pm where he'll be joined by some special star guests.

Meanwhile, Clara Amfo and Maya Jama will be bringing viewers all the backstage action and gossip in a special one-hour show airing on ITV2 at 7pm.
