James Bond star would ‘LOVE’ to return to 007 franchise – despite character death
James Bond (played by Daniel Craig) is bringing the newest era of 007 to an end this year, with the release of No Time To Die. Craig has played the role gallantly, and will move on to usher in a new type of international spy. Over the course of his time on screen, Craig has seen a fair amount of action, as well as a lot of cohorts in his efforts against evil.
Just before Craig’s time on screen, however, the previous Bond – Pierce Brosnan – was almost taken out by double agent Miranda Frost (Rosamund Pike).
Pike’s character was eventually killed off, leaving her down and out of the franchise forever more.
Despite this, the star has now been speaking out about a possible return to the franchise – however bizarre that may be.
Pike recently responded to a number of fan questions during the Toronto International Film Festival.
During this, the star was asked about her character, Frost, and if she would make her way back to the franchise.
“I would love to tackle that character again,” she answered without skipping a beat.
She then went on to give her hopes for what Frost could do in another film.
Pike continued: “I’d like her to have the experience that I now have, not just as an actress but as a woman.
“I think she would be formidable and I would really enjoy the chance to do that character again, and I’d love to kind of get back into fencing.”
Of course, Pike’s character was best known for whipping out her fencing sword and taking on a number of foes before her glorious death at the hands of Halle Berry’s Jinx Johnson.
Although the star was killed off, does that mean it is impossible for her to make a comeback in the next iteration of Bond as a new spy?
Fans have been calling out for a female Bond for years now, Rosamund Pike’s excitement could even land her in the role.

However, the odds are stacked against her, as lately another British actor has been given the “most likely to be Bond” nod – Tom Hardy.
Hardy is a popular actor, and has been appearing in a slew of different film franchises over the last decade.
Because of this, Hardy has a very healthy 8/1 odds on becoming the next Bond – after Craig.
Considering his popularity, we wouldn’t be surprised if these odds were increased within the next few months.
He isn’t alone, though, as other British actors do have a better chance than him at the moment.
Just ahead of him is James Norton and Sam Heughan, favourites in the Bond race, who have 2/1 and 3/1 respectively.
But will these two fine actors be able to smack down Hardy before he claims the role they are fighting so hard for?
No Time To Die is currently set for UK release on November 12, 2020.
