Katie Price smashes pot on roof in first look at Channel 4 series Mucky Mansion
Katie Price’s renovation efforts get off to a chaotic start in new Channel 4 series Mucky Mansion, as the star accidentally smashes a pot on her roof while standing on a lift with a builder.
In the upcoming three-part series, the 43-year-old will set about refurbishing her 19-room mansion, which has been dubbed ‘Mucky Mansion’ in headlines in the past after falling into a state of disrepair.
The media personality will embark on a mission to make the property a family home once more, putting traumatic experiences behind her to create a happy and safe place to live for her loved ones, doing everything from making over her kitchen to replacing chimney pots.
However, it’s not all smooth-sailing, as a first look clip reveals.
In the footage, Katie – who’s wearing a glittery KP builder’s helmet – is at the top of a boom lift with a construction worker, swearing about high up they are.
After she asks how she can help, he hands her a chimney pot… only for her to drop it, with the pot cascading down and smashing into her roof, causing even further damage to the already run-down building.
While there may be a journey to go until Katie’s house is back in a state that she’s pleased with, the model stressed that she’s willing to ‘get her hands dirty’ to get the job done.
Speaking about the series – which will consist of one-hour episodes, she said: ‘My house has been called the Mucky Mansion in the past, but it’s not that anymore, I’m making it a home.
‘I’m getting my hands dirty and doing a lot of the work myself and, with the help of my amazing family and some brilliant friends, I’m putting the past behind me and rebuilding. My house is a bit like my life, it’s being put back together like I’m being put back together.’
In another clip released by Channel 4, Katie is shopping in a garden centre for materials with her son Harvey.
A man working in the shop is bemused when she informs him that she plans on using a turf roll of artificial grass as a wallpaper, rather than placing it outdoors on the floor.
In addition to Mucky Mansion, Channel 4 has also commissioned a one-part film called Katie Price: Trauma and Me, which will delve into her struggles with her ‘mental health, the events that lead to her downward spiral and the consequences of her actions’.
Earlier this month, it was reported that she was taking courses on how to administer lip filler and Botox to ensure she has a ‘proper job’.
‘Katie’s telling friends it’s a proper job so she has skills to fall back on in the future – she’s a grafter and has never been afraid of hard work,’ a source told The Sun.
Katie Price’s Mucky Mansion will air on Channel 4 and All 4.
