Liam Payne is back together with ex fiance Maya Henry after wooing her with series of low-key dates
THEIR split shocked fans when Liam Payne told how he had called time on his engagement to US model Maya Henry.
But just nine weeks later, I can reveal the lovers are back on, with Liam wooing Maya over a series of low-key dates.
Maya moved back to the States following their separation and it looked like they were done for good.
But Liam realised he had made a huge mistake and pulled out all the stops to persuade her to return to the UK.
A source said: “Once Liam and Maya ended things they both had a lot of time to think.
“And ultimately, as the days went by, Liam realised what he had lost.
“He has worked hard to win back Maya’s trust and they have been dating again for some time.
“Liam is a really charming and romantic man and he has turned his charisma up to full volume to get her back.
“As well as having sweet dates together out of the public eye, they’ve been spending time with mutual friends.
“It’s all very much back to basics and they are falling in love all over again.”
The couple have been keeping quiet about their rekindled romance but this week they were spotted looking loved up on a date at entertainment game bar Topgolf near the capital.
‘IN NO HURRY’
But while things between the pair are hotting up, insiders said they are not rushing into anything.
The source added: “Liam and Maya are in no hurry and are taking their time.
“Everything became a bit intense before and Liam is keen to make sure that doesn’t happen again.
“He knows he has a good woman in Maya and he wants to make it work.”
It was unsurprising that so many were shocked by Liam and Maya’s split in June.
The pair had seemed smitten, with Liam using Maya’s grandmother’s ring to propose last August.
Following their break-up he made no secret of how he was missing Maya.
And last month he posted a cryptic message online, seem-ingly putting himself out there for the whole world to see.
Writing on Instagram, Liam tagged Maya on a post which said: “Don’t let someone go if you really want to love them even if you have to learn to love them through your own mistakes . . .
“Let your instinct tell you that you need them and keep them close. We are always running out of time . . . We never gain it.”
He is a great guy and has clearly been working hard to better himself. So I hope they can both make it work.
Bey's a cut above
BEYONCE inherited some good jeans to be looking this good in denim shorts and chaps three weeks before her 40th birthday.
She wore the gear paired with a tiny crop top to promote her new Ivy Park x Adidas clothing range, inspired by black cowboys and cowgirls, launching next Thursday.
If she needed some Dutch courage for her shoot, she could have had a cheeky Jagerbomb, after Ed Sheeran revealed he introduced her to Jagerbombs, a shot of Jagermeister dropped into an energy drink.
Of his evening out with the superstar in 2015, he said: “Jay-Z and Beyonce came to a gig I did in Brooklyn. And they were like, ‘Come out to this restaurant with us afterwards’.”
He added on The Rebecca Judd Show on Apple Music 1: “We went to dinner then this bar. Five of us in a room with Jay-Z and Beyonce. I gave Beyonce a Jagerbomb.” Rock ’n’ roll.
Byes and cries for Grimmy
IT was always going to be an emotional one for Nick Grimshaw as he hosted his final show on Radio 1 yesterday, but I doubt anyone thought he would get through quite as many tissues as he did.
The DJ, who is leaving the station after 14 years, admitted he had cried at least six times by the time he signed off for good at 5.45pm
I’m not surprised, as there were tear-jerking messages from special guests including Harry Styles, Jack Whitehall – and even Nick’s mum.
As he said his goodbyes, before playing Talking Heads’ This Must Be The Place, Grimmy explained: “I just want to thank all the listeners.
“I want to say something and I really hope it doesn’t come across as patronising, because I don’t mean it to be.
“But it was my childhood dream (to work at Radio 1) and I nearly talked myself out of it, I nearly was like, ‘I can’t do that’.
“I thought wanting to work here was like, I remember thinking it was like trying to be an astronaut or a footballer.
“And I remember my family being like, ‘People are astronauts and people are footballers’.
“It’s a simple bit of advice but I wanted to pass it on and say if you do have a dream, don’t talk yourself out of it.
“Don’t be scared of it, don’t think you don’t deserve it. If I can do it, you can do it.”
He has been brilliant over the years so I can’t wait to see what he does next. Thanks for the laughs, Nick.
Museum cooks up a Stormz
STORMZY was blinded by his own grace when he came face to face with his waxwork in Madame Tussauds.
The Heavy Is The Head rapper was thrilled with the recreation on show in London, which was modelled on his iconic performance at Glastonbury in 2019.
Stormzy said yesterday: “I can’t lie, it’s one of my proudest moments.
“Seeing myself in 3D was probably the creepiest, sickest, scariest, strangest, most surreal thing ever, but I feel so honoured to have my own figure.”
All the excitement was clearly hungry work too, as Stormzy revealed he brought along a load of snacks for the journey just in case he got peckish.
I admire him even more now, especially because just before he saw his waxwork he had enjoyed a slap-up lunch at fancy Mayfair restaurant Scott’s.
THE WEEKND has revealed Britney Spears’ 2003 songs Everytime and Toxic have influenced his next album.
He played them on his Apple Music 1 show Memento Mori, saying he would be spinning “tracks inspiring the new Dawn era”.
He recently released single Take My Breath, from his forthcoming album, expected to be called The Dawn.
Scarlett is in the pink
SCARLETT MOFFATT has made a career out of being an off-the-wall character – and it has paid off.
She has bagged another two series of her hit podcast Scarlett Moffatt Wants To Believe.
I can reveal the BBC has recommissioned the former Gogglebox regular for a bumper sum following the success of the podcast last year.
It sees her and her boyfriend Scott Dobinson investigate unexplained phenomena, with Scarlett trying to persuade him to believe in all sorts, including the Loch Ness monster and aliens.
The third series will launch next Friday and the fourth will drop in 2022.
Scarlett – who won I’m A Celebrity in 2016 and went on to co-host its Extra Camp spin-off show for two series – said: “This podcast will always be my passion project and is the one thing Scott and I most look forward to doing together each week.
“I can’t wait to record with more amazing guests and look forward to bringing the listeners in on some of the most interesting and obscure themes we are yet to unpick.”
