Speaking to Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard, Lorraine, 61, was asked about any clothing mishaps she had suffered in the past. It came as Susanna, 50, was questioned on her choice of outfit on Thursday’s show, with many likening her attire to a pink dressing gown. But Lorraine topped this clothing story with details of the time her dress fell down while interviewing somebody.

“I have shown things that I shouldn’t have,” she told the surprised GMB hosts as they chatted ahead of her 9am chat show, Lorraine.

She continued: “I do remember interviewing somebody and my dress fell down.”

Ben and Susanna gasped as the former asked: “Who was this person by the way?”

The presenter replied: “It was a poor lady from The Bill, who was traumatised.”

“Our director is just saying yes he remembers it vividly,” Ben remarked.

“You obviously made an impression!” Susanna commented to her ITV colleague.

She asked: “Is it still in the archives Lorraine? Can we get it?”

“Oh, it probably is – I imagine so!” Lorraine answered.

Susanna had chosen to sport a silky pink wrap dress to host Thursday’s episode of Good Morning Britain.

Viewers were distracted by the outfit choice, focusing on her dress rather than the headlines being discussed.

One viewer wrote: “#GMB, yeah that’s definitely a dressing gown.”

Another commented: “Just throw Susanna a towel to save her blushes.”

A third viewer joked that it looked like Susanna had a “great night’s sleep” and came straight downstairs for the “work from home Zoom call”.

Others questioned whether the journalist had forgotten to get dressed.

But it seems the GMB host wasn’t alone in accidentally attracting attention over her outfit, with Lorraine confirming she has endured worse clothing blunders.

Lorraine was back on screen a little later with her daily chat show, where she spoke to Mo Gilligan about the release of his new book, That Moment When: Life Stories from Way Back Then.

She also spoke to Paralympian Ellie Robinson about her emotional post-race interview.

“It really touched a cord with everybody,” the host told the 20-year-old, who confessed she had been in agony in recent years.

Following her televised swim, Ellie described her Paralympics journey as a story of success rather than defeat, tearfully stating she was proud of herself.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
