Love Island is seemingly set to return to Majorca as Spain will reopen its borders to Brits without the need for a Covid test from next week.

The hit ITV2 show has filmed its summer series in Spain since it launched in 2015, only moving to South Africa in January 2020 to launch a winter series.

Doubts were cast over whether host Laura Whitmore and her latest batch of sexy singletons could return to the island this year due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but is has now been confirmed that Spain will welcome British visitors in the coming days.

On Friday, the Spanish government confirmed it would follow in the footsteps of Portugal and welcome visitors from the UK, despite the country being on the amber travel list.

The Spanish embassy tweeted on Friday: "From 00:00 of May 24th, travelers from United Kingdom will be allowed to freely enter Spain for non-essential purposes, such as tourism, and stay in Spain without a visa for a maximum period of 90 days within six month.

"From May 24th, travelers from the United Kingdom will NOT ned to present negative COVID-19 test certificate (PCR), as long as they have remained in the UK in the last 14 days."

However, tourists returning to the UK from Spain will still have to comply with restrictions, which include PCR tests and a period of isolation.

Earlier this month the show's host, new mum Laura, rocked a red jumpsuit as she filmed what appeared to be a promo for the new series.

The presenter, 36, was hard at work along with the rest of the crew as they filmed ahead of the dating show's comeback after it was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

Laura, who recently welcomed her first child with her Love Island voiceover hubby Iain Stirling, was spotted by locals filming what was thought to be a promotional clip for the ITV2 series.

An onlooker filmed Laura in action and shared the clip on their TikTok page.

The footage sees the TV star wearing a bright red jumpsuit with flared legs and short sleeves and accessorised her look with a pair of heels and what appeared to be a black tool belt.

The former MTV journalist held on to a mallet as she stood alongside a red box with a glass heart in the middle.
