'LPBW': Amy Roloff Just Explained How 'Life Moves On' Despite Recent Tragedies
It’s been a year of wild ups and downs for Amy Roloff from Little People, Big World. While the show is currently filming for a new season, she’s giving her social media followers plenty of updates on what’s going on in her life, including all the good and bad. While Amy’s still dealing with certain aspects of her divorce from Matt Roloff that took place years ago, she’s excited to announce that she’s engaged to her partner of three years, Chris Marek. Unfortunately, shortly after the engagement news, she also notified her followers that her mother passed away.
Now that Amy’s taken some time to reflect on her mom’s passing, she also just noted how she’s planning on moving forward from the recent events. Here’s what she just wrote on Instagram.
Amy Roloff’s mother recently passed away
Amy’s been keeping her followers up to date concerning her mother’s health for a few months now. Awhile back, she alerted her Instagram followers that she was heading out to Michigan to be with her mom and dad after she heard of her mother’s ailing health. And right after she announced her engagement to Marek in late September, Amy was then hit with the news of her mom’s passing.
“She died on the 24th. My heart broke, I cried and sadness came upon me. I didn’t know what emotions to feel. Happy one moment sad the next. The woman who raised and taught me so much and loved me along w/ my dad passed away,” Amy captioned this Instagram post of her with her family.
Amy’s since reflected on her mother’s life in a few other posts, too. As she captioned this one after her mom’s memorial, “Her life wasn’t perfect but she gave her all to my Dad, myself and my siblings because she loved her family.”
Amy also briefly touched on drama that may be occurring on Roloff Farms
While Amy’s posts more recently are all about her mother, we can’t forget that she’s also briefly brushed over some drama on Roloff Farms. Pumpkin season on the iconic family farm just ended, and Amy has always played a major role in making sure everything goes according to plan for the big event. But this year, Amy mentioned several times on Instagram that she wouldn’t be helping out nearly as much with it this year. And when fans questioned why, Amy alluded that she and Matt still aren’t on good terms.
“Can you guys tell me why she’s not part of the pumpkin season?” one follower asked on this Instagram post. To that, Amy answered herself. She wrote, “just a lot going on and changes and choosing not to be involved in a confrontation,” followed by, “It’s changed for me now and because I choose not to be a part of a confrontation that could have impacted others from an ultimatum that was said to me if followed through.”
As we know, Amy and Matt have seemingly been at odds since their divorce, so we’re guessing the “confrontation” has to do with that.
She just explained how she’s moving forward regardless
Despite whatever’s going on on the family farm and her mother’s passing, Amy knows she must truck on — and she wrote about it on Instagram. She posted a photo of her near her mom’s gravesite and wrote, “Can hardly believe that it’s been one month since my Mom’s passing and one week since her memorial. Still feels like just yesterday. Sometimes you just don’t feel or want to move on but you must.”
Amy then explained how difficult everything’s been for her dad, too. But she’s doing everything she can to look toward a brighter future. “Now my mind begins to shift slightly as I think about coming home to my kids, Chris, my family. I have a new grand child coming soon and another a month and half later, projects, work, plans to create more memories,” Amy continued. “Life moves on whether we’re ready or not. … Coming to her gravesite reminds me that life moves on and I’m going to keep doing my best.”
We’re excited to see what Amy’s future holds — and we can’t wait to hear more details about future LPBW episodes, her engagement, and her upcoming grandchildren!
