Oti Mabuse confirmed as new ITV Dancing on Ice judge replacing John Barrowman

Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse has been confirmed as the new judge on ITV's Dancing On Ice.

The 31-year-old TV personality, who is known to fans for her incredible dancing talent, will join fellow judges Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean for the brand new series which kicks off in the New Year.

Speaking openly about her new position, Oti said: "As a professional dancer I have always had so much respect for the skating professionals on Dancing On Ice.

"It is an exceptional skill that is also so beautiful to watch. I'm feeling really enthusiastic about joining the panel alongside the legendary Torvill and Dean and Ashley Banjo.

"I can't wait to see the celebrities thrive as they learn how to ice-skate and to champion the professional skaters as they create incredible choreography."

The star also spoke openly about being a dancer on BBC's Strictly and now a judge on ITV's Dancing On Ice and the experience she can offer.

She continued: "Having been on both sides of the table, I know a little bit about how they’ll be feeling. It's more than an honour and I already can’t wait to join the family."

Katie Rawcliffe, who is Head of Entertainment Commissioning at ITV also shared her excitement regarding Oti's new role.

She said: "Oti is not only a supremely talented dancer and choreographer but she brings enormous fun and energy to all that she does. It’s fantastic to be welcoming her to our Ice Panel."

Dancing On Ice 2022 will have an array of celebrities taking part in the new series that will certainly whet viewers appetites.

Coronation Street legend Sally Dynevor, Happy Mondays dancer Bez, Paralympian Stef Reid, Love Island’s Liberty Poole, rugby star Ben Foden, Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, Paul Gascoigne’s son, dancer Regan Gascoigne, pop star Rachel Stevens and professional dancer Brendan Cole will be taking part.

As well as presenter Ria Hebden, BMX Olympic silver medalist Kye Whyte and The Vamps' Connor Ball will also do their best to dazzle audiences with their skating skills each week.

As per usual, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will return to present the spectacular dancing competition.
